Actor Vidyut Jammwal will soon begin filming the sequel of his 2020 action-thriller Khuda Haafiz in Lucknow. The sequel, titled Khuda Haafiz Chapter II Agni Pariksha, has Shivaleeka Oberoi once again playing his wife in the film, which is written and directed by Faruk Kabir. The mahurat of the film was shot a few days ago in Mumbai and now the cast and crew of the film is in Lucknow for the first schedule. The film will be shot at various locations in and around the city for two months, informs writer-director Faruk Kabir. “Lucknow is always lovely to come back to. I really like this city. To stay safe, we are taking all the necessary precautions for our cast and crew members,” says Faruk, as he adds that the theme of the sequel draws inspiration from the Ramayana.
“The first film was inspired by the Lanka episode of the Ramayana and hence had Nargis, who’s been kidnapped by human traffickers, being rescued by her husband Sameer. The theme for Chapter 2 is agnipareeksha, another famous aspect of the Ramayana. We will be showing agneepariksha between a couple. The sequel takes the story of Nargis and Sameer forward after he has rescued her and is full of even more action and drama,” says Faruk, who is happy to collaborate with his lead actors Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi again.
“It feels like a homecoming for all of us. I’m so happy to work with Vidyut and Shivaleeka again. The Khuda Haafiz franchise is like our baby and we are really emotionally invested in the film. We look forward to working hard on it,” says Faruk.
