Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 13: Kerala Government is planning to reduce the number of candidates included in the rank lists of Public Service Commission to avoid unrealistic expectations of job aspirants.
This was told by Minister for Local Self Governments MV Govindan in the State Legislative Assembly on Friday.
The existing practice is to include in the rank list five times more candidates than the number of vacancies. The Government is yet to receive a report from KK Dineeshan Commission appointed by the Left Government in 2019 to study the issue, he added.
The Minister said this on behalf of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in his absence in the Assembly.
