The film ‘Kaithi’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj that had impressive theatrical runs got into legal trouble in the recent past after a petitioner from Kerala moved to the Kollam Court, claiming that the film’s story belongs to him.
Due to this the Hindi remake of the film and ‘Kaithi 2’ work, were delayed. However, now the films can operate without any legal interventions as the court has given the verdict on the case after several investigations and declared that the story belongs to Lokesh Kanagaraj.
‘Kaithi’ was released on Diwali 2019, and the action drama clashed with Vijay’s ‘Bigil’ at the box office. It featured Karthi in the lead role with Narain, Arjun Das, Harish Uthaman, Ramana, and several others in crucial roles. The high-loaded action drama is about a police officer who takes help from an ex-prisoner to save his mates and stop drug trafficking. The film was produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, and it reportedly grossed more than Rs 100 crores at the box office.
Talking about the Hindi remake, Ajay Devgan is announced to play the lead role in the Hindi remake of ‘Kaithi’, which is titled ‘Bholaa’ and will be helmed by Dharmendra Sharma.
