Kannada Actress-Writer Bhargavi Narayan Passes Away At 83

Popular Kannada actress and writer Bhargavi Narayan breathed her last on Monday, February 14 at 7.30 pm. She was 83 years old. According to reports, she was suffering from age-related illnesses. Confirming the news, Bhargavi’s family said that she had pledged her body and that they have donated her mortal remains to St. John’s Hospital in Bengaluru.

Bhargavi Narayan was a renowned actor in the Kannada film industry. On February 14, she passed away at the age of 83. Her mortal remains will be kept at her residence for homage, after which, they will be donated to St. John’s Hospital.

She was married to Belavadi Nanjundaiah Narayanan, fondly called Makeup Nani. She is survived by her children Sudha Belawadi and Prakash Belawadi. For the unknown, Bhargavi is Kannada actress Samyukta Hornad’s grandmother.

Taking to Instagram, Samyukta wrote, “My grandma, Bhargavi Narayan, Ajji Bhajji to all, passed away at around 7.30 pm this evening, 14/2/2022. The body will be kept at our family home – Greenroom, 276/C, 37th A Cross, 8th Block Jayanagar, till 11 AM tomorrow, 15th Feb. (sic).”

Bhargavi had acted in 22 films and several plays in Kannada. Some of her famous films were Eradu Kanadu, Hanthakana Sanchu, Pallavi Anupallavi and Baa Nalle Madhurchandrake. She also acted in TV series such as Manthana and Mukta. Bhargavi’s autobiography, which was released in 2012, won many awards and accolades.

Soon after the news of Bhargavi Narayan’s demise broke, Kannada actors Rakshit Shetty and Dhananjaya offered condolences.

Bhargavi Narayan’s fans took to social media to pay their last respects.
