Kamal Haasan Watches ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ With Devi Sri Prasad

Kamal Haasan recently watched Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise along with the film’s composer, Devi Sri Prasad. Ulaganayagan appreciated the cast and crew of Pushpa. Allu Arjun, who played the titular role, was overwhelmed to know that a legend had watched their film. He took to Devi Sri Prasad’s comments section to thank Kamal Haasan for watching the film.

In 2021, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise took the box office by storm and grossed over Rs 300 crore in four weeks. The film received an overwhelming response from the critics and audience alike. Pushpa: The Rise was released in theatres across the globe in five languages.

On January 16, music director Devi Sri Prasad met Kamal Haasan and suggested he watch Pushpa: The Rise. The duo watched the film and showered praise on the cast and crew. The composer shared photos from their meeting and wrote, “Dearest ULAGANAYAGAN @ikamalhaasan sir. Thanku so much 4 taking out time & watching our #PushpaTheRiseOnPrime. U r d sweetest Sir. ThankU 4 all d lovely words about d work of all of Us (sic).”

Replying to Devi Sri Prasad’s post, Allu Arjun wrote, “Thank you for watching #Pushpa @ikamalhaasan garu. Humbled (sic).”

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa: The Rise follows the story of Pushpa Raj, a red sandalwood smuggler. From being a coolie to becoming the head of the syndicate, his rise saw many ups and downs. The second part will see the face-off between Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil).

Titled Pushpa: The Rule, the second part will go on floors sometime in February. The makers decided to release the sequel in December 2022.
