Jagathy Sreekumar Joins Mammootty’s ‘CBI 5: The Brain’

Makers of ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ are leaving no stones unturned. The talented bunch of creators are currently filming for the 5th installment from the franchise, featuring Mammootty as CBI officer Sethurama Iyer. And guess who joined the sets last day? None other than, his subordinate Vikram! Jagathy Sreekumar, who played Vikram, a CBI officer, has come onboard!

The veteran actor has been off the limelight for quite some time, due to the life-threatening accident he survived from in 2012. Though the actor had made appearances in advertisements, the forthcoming ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ will mark the thespian’s comeback to the silver screen in a pivotal role.

Director K Madhu and scenarist SN Swamy, who are the creators of the investigative franchise have shared the pictures with Jagathy Sreekumar and confirmed the news! “Jagathy Sreekumar joins Team CBI… Happy to welcome my Vikram,” K Madhu said, sharing the pictures from the sets.

Ever since the fifth installment from the CBI franchise was announced, the movie buffs were anticipating whether Jagathy Sreekumar would be present or not, since he has been part of the past four, and his role Vikram, is crucial for the film.

Mammootty is reprising his role of Sethurama Iyer, and similarly Mukesh and Jagathy Sreekumar are reprising their roles as Chacko and Vikram, respectively in ‘CBI 5: The Brain’. Chacko and Vikram are the subordinates of Sethurama Iyer.

The shooting of ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ is progressing at a warp speed. Apart from Mammootty, Mukesh, Jagathy Sreekumar, the film will also feature Renji Panicker, Sai Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Ramesh Pisharadi, Anoop Menon, Dileesh Pothen, Ravi Kumar, Harish Raju, Edavela Babu, Sudev Nair, Prasanth, Alexander, Ramesh Kottayam, Jayakrishnan, Prathap Pothen, Suresh Kumar, Chandhu Karamana, Azees Nedumangad, Santhosh Keezhattur, Asha Sarath, Kaniha, Ansiba, Malavika Menon, and, Malavika Nair.

Meanwhile, the makers had recently launched the title motion poster and it got huge reception from the cinephiles.
