It was announced by the makers early this year that the upcoming movie will hit cinema halls on July 30, 2021. However, the film would not be released as per the plan due to the second wave of the pandemic. While the makers have not yet announced the revised release date, a new report has now come up stating that the makers have opted for an OTT release. A report in an entertainment portal suggested that ‘Radhe Shyam’ has been sold for a whopping amount of Rs 400 crore to the OTT, which makes it the biggest ever Telugu film purchase for an OTT platform. An official update regarding the same is still awaited.
Touted to be a period romantic drama, the film has been made on a budget of Rs 350 crore. Prabhas will be seen playing a character called Vikramaditya. Pooja Hegde plays Prabhas’ love interest. Prabhas’ fee for ‘Radhe Shyam’ has been reported to be Rs 100 crore. He has been the highest-paid actor of this generation. Apart from the lead cast, the film also stars Krishnam Raju, Sachin Khedekar, Priyadarshi, Bhagyashree, Murali Sharma, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Sasha Chettri in key roles.
‘Radhe Shaym’ marks the first-time collaboration between actor Prabhas and director Radha Krishna Kumar. The film is jointly produced by UV Creations and T-Series. The soundtrack and background score are composed by Justin Prabhakaran, with cinematography handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao.
