Amidst the havoc of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, preparations are now going to start to deal with the third wave.
K Vijay Raghavan, the chief scientific advisor to the central government, has said that a third wave of coronavirus will also hit the country.
“But we do not know when it will come. But we have to be ready for it. It was not anticipated that the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic would be so fierce and long,” he said.
“It is not clear when the third phase of the coronavirus pandemic will come,” he added.
K Vijay Raghavan said in a press conference on Wednesday that there is an over-circulation of the Covid-19 virus and the third phase is yet to come, but it is not clear when it will arrive.
The scientific advisor also said that the strains of the virus are spreading like the first strain. They do not have the properties of new types of infection. He also said that vaccines are effective against existing variants. There will be new variants in the country and the world. He also said that the reduction in caution after the end of a wave gives the Covid-19 virus a chance to spread again.
