Happy Birthday Prithviraj Sukumaran: Some Of His Most Awaited Upcoming Films

Prithviraj Sukumaran is a man of many hats. The actor who stepped into movies in 2002 during the semester break from college, to pass time, has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Arthouse or commercial, parallel or mainstream, Prithviraj Sukumaran always makes sure to strike a balance and also delivers content that is entertaining and meaty.

As the actor is celebrating his birthday today and on this special day, let’s take a look at some of the most anticipated upcoming films:-

Empuraan

Prithviraj Sukumaran donned the hat of a filmmaker for the first time in 2019 with ‘Lucifer’. The film featured his all-time favourite Mohanlal as the lead and it broke all the box office records and emerged as a super-duper hit. ‘Empuraan’ is the second installment from the series and interestingly it will be delving deeper into the life of Khureshi Ab’raam (Mohanlal). And the upcoming film will be telling the story of what happened prior to the story of ‘Lucifer’. In short, ‘Empuraan’ is a prequel to ‘Lucifer’!

Aadujeevitham

Directed by Blessy, ‘Aadujeevitham’ is one of the most anticipated upcoming films in Malayalam cinema. The movie is based on the best seller eponymous novel by Benyamin. Prithviraj Sukumaran has roped in to play the lead role of Najeeb. “I am not a very pious person, but there is something about Najeeb’s staunch focus on faith that I kind of understand. I guess my focus is mostly cinema and work. Supriya would tell you that when I am at work, I am only tuned in to that and nobody can talk to me. I get that with Najeeb’s faith. Also, the very interesting angle about things is that for three years if a human communicates and interacts more with animals than men, who do you become one amongst? It’s an interesting physical, physiological and spiritual journey for the character. I hope all that comes through in the film and my performance,” Prithviraj Sukumaran earlier divulged to us. The actor has gone for extreme weight loss for the film and went through several hardships including getting stranded while filming in Jordan’s Wadi Rum during the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

Bro Daddy

‘Bro Daddy’ is Prithviraj Sukumaran’s second directorial venture and this time too the charming star has gone for his favourite actor – Mohanlal to play the lead. According to Prithviraj Sukumaran, it is high time, the audience watched a cheerful movie and ‘Bro Daddy’ has “A script that we hope will become a film that makes you smile, laugh, and want to revisit. I guess it’s about time we all got a happy film.” The film has a stellar cast of Meena, Lalu Alex, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Murali Gopi, Kaniha, and Soubin Shahir. Prithviraj Sukumaran is also playing an important role in the film.

Gokulraj Bhaskar’s film
