New Delhi [India] : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded the development works in Goa saying that today the state means a new model of development and a reflection of collective efforts. Post his interaction with the beneficiaries and stakeholders of the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa programme’, PM Modi said, “When we get the support of the government and the hard work of the people, how change comes, how self-confidence comes, we all experienced this during our discussion with the beneficiaries of Swayampurna Goa.” “Goa means nature and tourism, but today it also means a new model of development and a reflection of collective efforts. Goa means solidarity for development from panchayat to administration,” he added. The Prime Minister further said that Goa achieved a 100 per cent target of providing electricity connection to every household. “India set the goal of being free from open defecation. Goa achieved this target 100 per cent. The country has set a target of providing electricity connection to every household. Goa got it 100 per cent. In Har Ghar Jal Abhiyan – Goa First 100 per cent! Centre allocated Rs 500 crore to modernise rural infrastructure in Goa: PM Modi
To modernise rural infrastructure in Goa, the Central government has allotted Rs 500 cores to the state, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. “The budget allocated to modernise rural infrastructure in Goa has been hiked by 5 times. The Central govt has allotted Rs 500 crore for rural infrastructure in Goa,” said PM Modi while interacting with beneficiaries of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa programme. The Prime Minister noted the infrastructural development in rural Goa will help in increasing the income of farmers, livestock farmers and fishermen. “The infrastructure being developed in Goa will also help in increasing the income of farmers, livestock farmers and fishermen. This year, the fund for modernisation of rural infrastructure in Goa has been increased by five times as compared to earlier,” said PM Modi. Under Har Ghar Jal Mission, Goa became the first state to achieve the feat.” “For the convenience and respect of women, Goa is successfully carrying out the implementation of several government schemes. Be it toilets, Ujjwala gas connections or Jan Dhan bank accounts, Goa has done a great job in providing these facilities to women,” PM Modi added. Lauding the efforts of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the Prime Minister said, “Pramod Ji’s team is sincerely giving new heights to Goa with the same faith with which my friend Late Manohar Parrikar Ji had taken Goa forward. Today Goa is moving ahead with renewed confidence.
