Brussels, Aug 28: EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson on Friday expressed hope that the bloc will soon decide to shelter some 30,000 refugees from Afghanistan.
Explaining why the EU is going to accept only 30,000 refugees – while Canada and the United Kingdom are going to shelter 20,000 people each – the commissioner stressed that the bloc had the “biggest resettlement programs” in the past.
