• Dhanush’s ‘Maaran’ To Premiere Soon On Disney+ Hotstar
    Dhanush’s upcoming film, ‘Maaran’, directed by Karthick Naren is in the post-production phase. The film was scheduled to release in theatres. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the makers decided to take the OTT route. On January 14, the Maaran team released a motion poster and announced that film will premiere on Disney+Hotstar. An announcement regarding the film’s release date will be out soon. Dhanush was last seen in director Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, which released on Disney+Hotstar in December 2021. When his film, Jagame Thandhiram, released on Netflix in 2020, Dhanush expressed his disappointment with makers deciding to release on an OTT platform. Director Karthick Naren took to Twitter to share the motion poster and wrote, ““The pen is mightier than the sword” Presenting #MaaranMotionPoster. #Maaran coming soon on @DisneyPlusHS (sic).” Maaran marks the first collaboration of director Karthick Naren and actor Dhanush. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the film’s shooting took place in Chennai and Hyderabad. Maaran seems to be an investigative thriller with the right doses of action and emotion. Apart from Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan, Maaran will also feature Master Mahendran, Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat and Krishnakumar in important roles. While GV Prakash is the music director, lyricists Vivek and Karthick Naren are part of the technical crew.

    The makers of Dhanush starrer ‘Maaran’ have unveiled the much-awaited, motion poster of the film, on Pongal as a treat for cinephiles. The first look motion poster was released yesterday, January 14. The video opens with a close-up shot of a newspaper, and going by the motion poster, it can be assumed that Dhanush is playing the role of a journalist. The motion poster shows Dhanush using a fountain pen that is dripping blood and it hints at an intriguing movie ahead. The background music in the teaser is gripping and adds to the anticipation of the audience. ‘Maaran’ is directed by Karthick Naren and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. The moviemakers had recently made the official announcement about the film’s release. ‘Maaran’ is gearing up for a direct OTT premiere and it will be released in February 2022. As per reports, Dhanush will be playing the role of a journalist and the female lead played by Malavika Mohanan will be seen in the role of a photojournalist. The music for the movie is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Also, Dhanush has joined hands with ‘Enjoy Enjaami’ fame Therukural Arivu for his opening number in the film. Reportedly, Arivu will be providing the rap for the song.

    Vadivelu is making a comeback to acting after four years, and the entertaining actor is playing the lead role in ‘Naai Sekar Returns’, which is directed by Suraaj.     With the growing number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country, the film fraternity has also been reporting cases of celebrities being invected by the deadly coronavirus.
