Actor Sanjay Dutt has wrapped up his dubbing part for ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. On Tuesday, Sanjay took to Instagram and shared a glimpse of the dubbing session. He posted a photograph of him sitting in a dubbing studio. Along with the post, Sanjay wrote, “Adheera is back in action! Apart from Yash and Sanjay Dutt, the movie will also star Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon in the lead role. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is scheduled to release on April 14, 2022.
The makers of the 3D fantasy action-adventure Kannada film, ‘Vikrant Rona’, on Tuesday, have announced that the film will release on February 24, 2022. The film stars Kichcha Sudeep in the lead role. Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor shared the release date motion poster of the film, in which he can be seen sitting on a bike in a dark jungle. Written and directed by Anup Bhandari, reports suggest Jacqueline Fernandez will feature in an extended cameo appearance in the film, while Nirup Bhandari and debutante Neetha Ashok will star in the lead roles. Presented by ZEE Studios and Kichcha Creatiions, the movie is produced by Shalini Manjunath and Jack Manjunath and co-produced by Alankar Pandian under the banners of Shalini Artss, and Invenio Films India.

Veteran actor Shivaram’s sad demise has left the entire Kannada Film Industry heavy-hearted. In a career that spanned across six decades, Shivaram stood as one of the most endearing figures of the film fraternity here for having shared the screen space with the biggest names such as Dr. Rajkumar, Ambareesh, and Dr. Vishnuvardhan. In his own right too, Shivaram was well regarded for his versatility and his comic timing, especially in his collaborations with the legendary Puttanna Kanagal in films ‘Gejje Pooje’, ‘Sharapanjara’, ‘Naagarahaavu’, and others. For his contributions to Indian cinema, he was awarded the Dr. Rajkumar Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011 and the Padmabhushan Dr. B. Sarojadevi National Award in 2013. ‘Break Failure’ will be among the slew of Kannada films to hit the screens on December 10. The film marks the directorial debut of Adit Naveen, who also plays the lead in it. The debutant has previously worked as an assistant in a couple of films. Adit Naveen has come up with a suspense thriller, set on a college backdrop. Some crucial portions of the story take place in the forest. The film’s lead cast also stars Krithi Gowda in the female lead and Ravi of Ugramm fame as the antagonist. Director Hari Prasad Jayanna’s upcoming film, Padavi Poorva, will feature Bigg Boss Season 8 contestant Divya Uruduga in a special appearance. The teenage romantic drama featuring mostly fresh faces like Prithvi Shamanur, Anjali Anish, and Yasho Shivakumar, will also have Roberrt actor Sonal Monteiro playing a cameo. Divya shares her excitement about being part of a film made under Yograj Bhat’s banner. The team, which is getting ready for the fifth and last schedule, will be shooting her portions in Bengaluru and Mangaluru. Actor Prajwal Devaraj has shortened his hair for his upcoming film Mafia which is his 35th film as a hero. The movie marks his collaboration with the director Lohith for the first time in his career. Lohith had earlier directed thriller movies like Mummy and Devaki. The muhurtha of the movie will be held at a temple on Thursday. The film being backed by Bangalore Kumar. The team has said that Prajwal has chopped off his hairs after two years which is donated for the benefit of cancer patients. Mafia, which has a mass subject, was supposed to be directed by Gurudatha Ganiga, but he opted out of the project. The shoot of the movie will begin from December 6 in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Ramoji film city. The movie sees Prajwal Devaraj sharing screen space with Aditi Prabhudeva who is one of the busiest actresses in Sandalwood. Anoop Seelin has composed the music. While Maasthi is the dialogue writer and Tharun is the cinematographer. Prajwal Devaraj has almost completed shooting for the commercial entertainer Abbara, which will have three heroines Rajshri Ponnappa, Nimika Ratnakar and Lekha Chandra. The project is helmed by Ramnarayan.
For the first time, actors Diganth and Tarun Chandra are teaming up for a new project, tentatively titled Trin Trin. Directed by debutant Anand Mishra, it will be bankrolled by produced Kamar. The project sees Tarun, known for films like Love Guru, Geleya and Kushi, making a comeback to Sandalwood. It is reported that the movie, a paranormal thriller, is inspired by Korean and Hollywood films. The subject is a new one for Sandalwood. The makers are busy completing the script. Shooting will begin from the third week of January and the team is scouting for locations. Cinematographer H C Venu and music director Anand Raja Vikram are also on board. Diganth has completed shooting for Huttu Habbada Shubhashayagalu which got a U/A certificate from the censor board. He also has Marigold, Gaalipata 2, Nima Katheyalli Hannavilla in the pipeline and a yet-untitled project with Ghouse Peer, his second project with him after Sharp Shooter.
Kushal Gowda, who made his directorial debut with Kannadakkagi Ondannu Otti, has announced his second venture. Titled Once Upon a Time in Jamaaligudda, the film features Dhananjay and Aditi Prabhudeva in the lead. Billed to be a travel subject, the project marks the first collaboration between Dhananjay and Aditi. The makers, who have completed 30 per cent of the shooting, announced the title and first-look poster of the film recently. “We recently completed shooting a few important portions in unique locations of Chikmagalur, Kudremukh, and Kanakapura. The second schedule will resume on Sunday in Bengaluru,” says the director, who has also brought on board Prakash Belawadi, Bhavana Ramanna, and child artiste Praayna Rao. Produced by Sri Hari’s Niharika Movie banner, Once Upon a Time in Jamaaligudda will have music by Arjun Janya. This is Kushal’s second film with Arjun, and the former shares that the project will have a lot of importance to music. Karthik S, an erstwhile assistant of cinematographer Naveen Kumar, will make his debut as the DOP in this project. Meanwhile, Dhananjay has an interesting lineup of films including the Allu Arjun-starrer, Pushpa, which is slated for a December 17 release. Dhananjay also has Badava Rascal hitting the screens on December 24, and is currently committed to his multilingual project, Head Bush, directed by Shoonya.
Actor Shivarajkumar on Friday visited Shakthidhama which is women’s rehabilitation and development centre. He was accompanied by his wife Geetha. He even watched his movie Bhajarangi 2 along with audiences at a cinema hall in Mysuru. Shakthidhama was started by Rajkumar and Paravathamma. At Shakthidama, Shivarajkumar discussed the activities conducted for the welfare of women and girl children and also development activities to be taken up to improve the facilities. Shivarajkumar said, ” Puneeth Rajkumar followed the footsteps of our father Dr. Rajkumar in helping people even after the death by donating eyes. Puneeth Rajkumar had been involved in various charitable activities. We are also getting moral support from the common people and industry to continue the good work done by him.” Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on October 29 due to cardiac arrest. His death was mourned by the people across the country. Puneeth Rajkumar will be posthumously honoured with the Karnataka Ratna award by the government. He will be seen in the upcoming movie James which is likely to release in March and he was supposed to do Dvitva with Pawan Kumar and another movie with Santhosh Ananddram.
Buoyed by the response to his film ‘Lanke’, filmmaker Ram Prasad M.D. is all set to embark on his next. He has already begun work on its pre-production. “This is a psychological thriller and will be different from Lanke. We will share the details, like the cast and the title, at a special event to commemorate the completion of 75 days of Lanke,” says the filmmaker. Ram adds that the team had thought of holding the special event a couple of weeks ago, but decided to push it because of the tragic demise of Puneeth Rajkumar. Now, Ram is thrilled that people have accepted his previous film’s release, especially after the pandemic. “We have managed to do well, especially in the North Karnataka belt,” he adds, signing off.
‘Sri Jagannatha Daasaru’, a Kannada film by Dr Madhusudhan Havaldar on the famous Haridasa scholar, had its premiere in a San Francisco Bay Area theater recently. However, the film is yet to see a theatrical release in India. Part of the Bhakti movement, Sri Jagannatha Daasaru is counted among the most famous quartet of Haridasas (servants of God), including Sri Purandara Daasaru, Sri Vijayadasaru, and Sri Gopala Daasaru. Sri Jaganatha Daasaru was made under the banner, Mathambuja Movies, and co-produced by Mytri Heritage, VV Joshi, and Srinath Rao and under the guidance of Trivikram Joshi. The film has debutant Sharath Joshi playing the role of Sri Jagannatha Daasaru, Trivikram Joshi as Sri Vijayadasaru, and Prabhanjan Deshpande as Sri Gopala Daasaru. The historical devotional drama has been shot in several parts of Karnataka, including Hampi, Anegondi, Gangawati, and the surrounding forests and the hills. The film will be released across Karnataka in the second week of December.
