According to E! News, turning heads on the red carpet, the ‘Transformers’ star flaunted her killer figure in a black lingerie-inspired look which included a lace button-down tank top with a black bra underneath and low slung lace-up leather pants. She completed the vampy vibe with a matching crystal-encrusted belt and choker, a crystal embroidered handbag and black patent pump heels. Not to be outdone, the ‘Bloody Valentine’ singer wore a black encrusted double-breasted suit with matching mock neck turtleneck from the Italian fashion house’s newest collection.     Washington [US], January 16 (ANI): Once again Miles Morales will be swinging into some groundbreaking visual territory as he returns to the big screen in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)’. According to The Hollywood Reporter, during a recent interview with an entertainment website, filmmaking duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller spoke about their ambitious approach to Sony’s ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ follow-up. The writers teased that fans who loved the first film’s groundbreaking visuals will be in for yet another “ambitious” effort, according to Lord, in the first half of the two-part sequel. “It is, as Phil said, a very ambitious sequel because we didn’t want to just sort of do the same thing again,” said Miller, who co-wrote the script and is producing the film.   • ‘Freelance’: Alison Brie To Star Opposite John Cena
    Washington [US], January 15 (ANI): Actor Alison Brie has been roped in as the leading lady opposite John Cena in the upcoming action-comedy ‘Freelance’ directed by ‘Taken’ helmer Pierre Morel. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Cena will play the role of a retired soldier, with Brie tapped to play the journalist in the movie that centres on an ex-special forces operator who, desperate to escape his humdrum life, takes a job providing security for a journalist who is hoping to salvage her career by interviewing a dictator. Things go sideways when a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, and the mismatched duo, along with the dictator, escapes to the jungle where they must survive the military chasing them, animals hunting them and each other. The film will go on floors later this month in Colombia. The script is written by Jacob Lentz. AGC Studios, run by Stuart Ford, is behind the project, which has Steve Richards of Endurance Media, Sentient’s Renee Tab and Christopher Tuffin producing.
  • George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy To Receive Milestone Honour At 2022 Producers Guild Awards
    Washington [US], January 15 (ANI): Director George Lucas and producer Kathleen Kennedy will be honoured with the 2022 Milestone Award at the 33rd annual Producers Guild Awards. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Producers Guild of America announced on Friday that the duo will be recognized for their contribution to film, both individually and collaboratively, at the annual ceremony on March 19. The award is being given “for their unparalleled contributions to the film industry both individually and collaboratively through Lucasfilm.” Kennedy serves as the president of Lucasfilm. Lucas’ 1977 film ‘Star Wars’ broke all box office records and received seven Academy Awards. Prior to ‘Star Wars’, Lucas’ 1973 film ‘American Graffiti’ became the most successful film of its time. There is an impressive lineup of projects under Lucas’ belt including ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, ‘Return of the Jedi’, 1981 ‘Indiana Jones’, and many more. For the unversed, Lucasfilm Ltd. was acquired by the Walt Disney Company in 2012, and Kennedy, his longtime collaborator, was named as his successor. The 33rd annual Producers Guild Awards will take place on March 19 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California. In 2020, the accolade was honoured to Ted Sarandos. Former recipients include Louis B. Mayer, Walt Disney, Alfred Hitchcock, Steven Spielberg, Sherry Lansing, Bob Iger, Clint Eastwood, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, Donna Langley, and more. 
  • ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ To Resume Filming Next Week
    Washington [US], January 15 (ANI): After a major on-set COVID-19 outbreak and injury, the makers of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ are all set to restart the production next week. Actor Letitia Wright has healed and will be back to reprise her fan-favourite character Shuri for the Marvel mega sequel. Deadline confirmed the news that after nearly two months off, the filming for the Marvel mega sequel will begin next week. Wright, who was injured in August, will be back on set in Atlanta. Sources close to the production told the outlet that the filming was initially slated to restart last Monday but was delayed due to several cast and crew members, who tested positive for COVID-19. The next schedule of the Ryan Coogler-directed film will resume in Atlanta next week and will stretch for about four weeks. Last August, Deadline reported that Wright suffered an injury while filming a sequence involving a stunt rig on-location in Boston. Production then shut down in late November after the team filmed as much as they could without Wright, while she continued to heal at her home in London. ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is one of the most anticipated films of 2022. During a shift of several Marvel Studios titles, Disney moved the Black Panther sequel’s release date from July 8 to November 11, 2022. 
  • Tiffany Haddish Arrested On Suspected DUI Charge In Georgia
    Washington [US], January 15 (ANI): Actor Tiffany Haddish was arrested on Friday in Georgia on a suspected Driving Under Influence (DUI) charge. According to legal documents obtained by Deadline, the 42-year-old actor was released after posting a USD 1,666 bond at around 6:30 am (local time). A local law enforcement source told the outlet that the Grammy winner was found by Peachtree City police after calls to the cops of a driver falling asleep at the wheel. Haddish was arrested as she was pulling into the driveway of a residence in the golf cart rich South Metro Atlanta town. Law enforcement immediately arrested her after the ‘Girls Trip’ star refused a breathalyzer in the pre-dawn hours on Friday. Haddish was in the Peach State filming the Disney project ‘Haunted Mansion’ as per Deadline. The actor will also be seen soon as a police detective in the Apple TV Plus series ‘The Afterparty’, which debuts on January 28.

The streaming giant is in the early stages of planning two ‘Red Notice’ sequels with lead stars Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson expected to return. As per Variety, Netflix hopes to begin production in early 2023 depending on the schedules of the main talent. Writer-director Rawson Marshall Thurber is expected to return to helm the upcoming sequels. The future sequels would also add new characters to the franchise, according to Deadline. Marshall Thurber, who has been working on the screenplays, is planning to shoot the two sequels back-to-back. Producers on ‘Red Notice’ — a long list that consists of Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, Beau Flynn and Scott Sheldon of Flynn Pictures Co. and Thurber via Bad Version Productions — are each expected to come back. The film debuted on Netflix in November 2021 and quickly became the streaming platform’s second most-watched film of all time having been watched for 277.9 million hours around the world.
