Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Salute’ Release Date Postponed

Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Salute, which was scheduled to hit the theatres on January 14, has been postponed. The decision was made in view of the increasing number of Covid-19 and Omicron cases across India. Salute is directed by Rosshan Andrrews and marks Diana Penty’s Malayalam debut.

The trailer of Salute showed Dulquer Salmaan trying to solve a crime as SI Aravind Karunakaran. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the film, but they have to wait a little longer. The makers have now postponed its release.

Taking to Instagram, Dulquer Salmaan announced, “We at Wayfarer films are bound to show social responsibility ahead of our personal interests. Just like all of you, we were most excited and eagerly awaiting our next release (sic).”

He added, “Owing to recent developments and the spike in Covid-19 and Omicron cases, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the release of Salute. We apologise if we’ve disappointed you. But in times like this we must prioritise health and safety. We request everyone to stay safe. We will be back. At the earliest. We thank each and every one of you for your support. #Salute #Salutepostponed #SafetyFirst #OurApologies (sic).”

Salute stars Dulquer Salmaan, Diana Penty, Manoj K Jayan, Alencier Ley and Binu Pappu in important roles. Dulquer’s home production, Wayfarer Films, has backed the cop drama.

Now, a new release date of Salute is awaited.
