Dev and Rukmini Maitra are back again! This time it’s a slice-of-a-life rom-com titled ‘Kishmish’. Directed by Rahool Mukherjee, the film has finally hit the shooting floor after much delay. On Wednesday, the first poster of the film was dropped online. Earlier, Dev had announced the film will be released in theatres during Durga Puja but now it has been confirmed ‘Kishmish’ will hit the big screens during winter this year.
Rahool has started filming keeping all the COVID-19 mandates in place as per the state government guidelines. The romantic comedy will have some exciting 2D animation to attract the audience along with fresh content. Dev will be seen in three avatars in this film. The film also stars Kharaj Mukherjee, Anjana Basu and Kamaleswar Mukherjee in key roles. While June Malia will be seen as Rukmini’s mother, Kharaj plays her father in ‘Kishmish’.
The film talks about love in three different timelines and Dev will be seen in four different looks. One of the stories has a political background too. What today’s generation thinks about love will be shown in this film. It is a relevant love story for today’s youth.
Rukmini was offered this film way back in 2015 by Rahool when she was into modeling. So, the director has been planning this film for a long time with the duo in mind. Dev and Rukmini last appeared in a film together in Kamaleswar Mukherjee directed action-thriller ‘Passward’ which was released during 2019 puja.
