Delhi Police seizes 354 kg heroin worth Rs 2,500 crore , arrests 4

The Delhi Police Special Cell has seized 354 kg heroin worth Rs 2,500 crore and arrested four people in this regard.

New Delhi : Addressing mediapersons here on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwaha said the Special Cell team has succeeded in seizing a huge consignment of the contraband.

The arrested have been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, Gurjot Singh alias Golu, Hazrat Ali and Rizwan Kashmiri, the DCP said.

Hazrat Ali is a Afghanistan national and has been arrested from Gurugram.

Interrogation is on to nab other accused in the drug racket, he said.

On July 5, acting on a specific input, the Special Cell laid a trap and arrested Rizwan. One kg heroin was seized from his possession.
During interrogation, Rizwan revealed that Isha Khan, an Afghan citizen who recently left India, and is now hiding in Afghanistan, directed him to contact Gurpreet Singh and Gurjot Singh, residents of Punjab, who are currently operating a drug racket from a society in Sector-65, Faridabad, Haryana.
Acting swiftly on this information, raids were conducted at NSG Vihar Co-Operative Housing Society, Sector-65, Haryana during which Gurpreet Singh and Gurjot Singh were arrested and over 350 kg heroin was seized from their possession.
During inquiry, Gurpreet Singh and Gurjot Singh revealed that they are operating this drug racket on the instructions of Navpreet Singh alias Nav who is currently hiding in Portugal.
Gurpreet said that he met Navpreet Singh alias Nav in Punjab’s Kapurthala Jail.
