Cricket fraternity wishes ‘run machine’ Virat Kohli on his 33rd birthday

New Delhi [India] : The Cricket fraternity showered heartfelt birthday wishes on Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the run machine-turned 33 today.
From legendary Indian cricketers like VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag to the teammates of Delhi-born batter, everyone took to their Twitter handles to share wishes for Kohli on his special day. Since, making his debut in 2008, Kohli has played 254 ODIs, 96 Tests, and 92 T20Is for the national side. He has several records in all the formats and is the only batter to have a 50-plus average in all three formats of the game at the same time.

With 70 international centuries, Kohli is third on the list only behind Sachin Tendulkar (100) and Ricky Ponting (71). The Indian captain has 23159, which is the seventh most in the list of all-time highest run-scorers in international cricket.

The 33-year-old is also the leading run-scorer in men’s T20 internationals with his 3225 runs in 92 matches.
The Delhi-born batter is the most successful Indian skipper in Test cricket when it comes to number of wins. Under his 65-match stint as captain, India have won 38 matches with remarkable Test series victories in foreign soils as well.

Dubai [UAE]: It’s Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s 33rd birthday today, and his wife Anushka Sharma is all hearts for him.
Taking to Instagram, Anushka penned a heartfelt post for Virat, saying his “core is made of honesty.” “No filter needed , for this photo and the way you lead your life . Your core is made of honesty and guts of steel . Courage that pales doubt into oblivion . I know no one who can pick themselves up from a dark place like you can . You grow better in every way because you hold on to nothing in you as permanent and are fearless,” she wrote.
Anushka also thanked Virat for making her life “brighter”.
“I know we are not ones to talk to each other through social media like this but sometimes I just want to scream and tell the world what an amazing man you are. Fortunate are those who really truly know you. Thank you for making everything brighter and more beautiful,” she added.
Alongside the loved-up post, Anushka posted an adorable picture, in which she can be seen hugging Virat. The image seems to be captured during their Diwali celebrations in the UAE.

For the unversed, Virat and Anushka tied the knot in a private ceremony in Italy on December 11, 2017. The two are also doting parents to their 9-months-old daughter Vamika.

Dubai [UAE] : Ravichandran Ashwin said Virat Kohli plays with “his heart on his sleeve” and the latter’s energy as a team leader is also contagious.
“With respect to having dealt with him as a leader in the red-ball format. All I can say is he plays with his heart on his sleeve. Sometimes, when I watch Virat lead the side, I feel like how does he manage to bring so much energy. I really envy Virat energy level on the field and off it,” Ravichandran Ashwin said in a video posted by Star Sports on Twitter. “And I think that the energy he infuses on the field really absorbs on people. One thing is you can stand up tall and I can say at the top of my voice is the kind of culture he has brought in the team.”
It’s a well-known fact that Virat Kohli is among the best when it comes to captaincy especially in Test cricket. And one of the many things which have helped him in achieving this feat is his ever-contagious energy on and off the field.
