CM Soren chairs a review meeting to ensure quality education for children of Jharkhand

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday directed the officials of the education department to ensure that children of the state get access to quality education.

Soren chaired a review meeting over the functioning of the higher and technical education department, he said, there is a need to make better plans in the area of higher education or else the the children will not be able to get quality education.

Mr Soren directed the officials to hold a meeting with the VCs of the different universities and remove the obstacles in recruitment process so that the students do not face any problem in their studies.

He instructed to improve the condition of libraries in different colleges and they should be equipped with the facility of online library and books should be as per the needs of the students.

The chief minister asked the officials to make sure that the University management has a look at the different means of education being provided in different areas so that the students can be provided better education here.

During the review meeting he also collected information regarding the work being done in the state over setting up educational institutions on PPP Mode.

Mr Soren asked the officials to provide details regarding the facilities being provided to the private universities in the state and it should be made sure that more students from Jharkhand should be provided education in these institutions.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to improve the condition of the Bokaro Women’s College.

Mr Soren instructed the officials to hold dialogue with the officials of the SAIL and shift the

Women’s College to some other building. He suggested to make use of the engineering college building.

The Chief Minister also collected information regarding the status of newly constructed, under construction colleges, polytechnic institutions, women colleges etc.

Those present on the occasion included Additional Chief Secretary K K Khandelwal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka.
