After director Puri Jagannadh, his business partner, actress-turned-producer Charmme Kaur has been summoned to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in regards to the Tollywood drugs scandal.
Summons was issued in alleged connection to money laundering and drugs scandal that concerns numerous celebs from across the country. On Thursday, Charmme was spotted arriving at the ED office where she will be questioned by officials the next few hours. We received an exclusive video in which the producer can be seen asking the press to give her some space so she can head in even as she refuses to answer any of the questions asked.
The Liger producer was grilled by the excise department in 2017 and four years later, the ED issued summons to numerous celebrities facing similar allegations. On August 31, the ED grilled Puri Jagannadh for several hours and it remains to be seen how long Charmme will be questioned. The last time around, summons were issued to 12 other Tollywood celebs including Navdeep, Rana Daggubati, Rakul Preet Singh and others.
Charmme Kaur is currently bankrolling Puri’s Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger. Her last film was Ram Pothineni, Nabha Natesh and Nidhhi Agerwal starrer iSmart Shankar.
