The Supreme Court order in a self-cognizance case regarding Covid-19 said that the central and state governments should consider stopping the second coronavirus wave and  impose a lockdown in public interest. The court has also said in its order that in the event of lockdown, special care should be taken of the people of the society who are poor or who do not have proper means to live and eat. Significantly, taking suo motu cognizance of the worsening situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the Supreme Court reserved the verdict after hearing on April 30.
