3 in 4 Indian firms feel AI/ML skill gap hampering innovation

Nearly three in four Indian enterprises (74 per cent) feel that the lack of skills impedes overall innovation and about 30 per cent of organisations plan to focus on artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) as key areas to hire or reskill their workforce in the next six months, an IDC report said on Monday. With an aim to meet business goals along with accelerated digital transformation, the IDC report showcased how lack of skills impacts meeting the business objectives. “About 76 per cent of respondents said that lack of skill sets in employees impacts customer experience/customer satisfaction and profit growth. Biden drops case against TikTok, ByteDance: US Court Document

Washington, Jul 13: President Joe Biden has asked a US court to dismiss his predecessor Donald Trump’s case against the Chinese social video platform TikTok and its parent ByteDance, a court document revealed. “Defendants-appellants hereby move to voluntarily dismiss this appeal, with each party to bear its own fees and costs for the appeal,” the document, filed in the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia that named TikTok as the plaintiff and Biden as the defendant, said on Monday.The September 24 appeal was originally filed by the Trump administration after the court denied the former president’s bid to legally outlaw TikTok and ByteDance in the United States. Government of India rolls out ₹945 crores fund for Start-ups

Union commerce minister Piyush Goyal on Monday formally unveiled a Start-ups India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) to handhold and financially support early-stage Start-ups across 300 incubation centres, almost three months after the Centre announced the plan. According to the commerce ministry, the fund is expected to benefit around 3,600 Start-ups and boost the Start-ups ecosystem, particularly in tier-2 and 3 cities. The fund aims to provide financial assistance to Start-ups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials and market entry. A sum of ₹945 crore has been allocated for the fund. Goyal said the SISFS will “secure seed funding, inspire innovation, support transformative ideas, facilitate implementation and start a Start-ups revolution”. He said the scheme will create a robust Start-ups ecosystem, particularly in non-metros, “which are often deprived of adequate funding”.
