3% increase in DA by Central Government

The DA is a part of the salary given to government employees and pensioners. Notably, the payment of DA of employees has not been revised since January 2020. In the wake of rising inflation, Union Cabinet has approved 3 per cent increase in the Dearness Allowance of Central Government employees and pensioners. This will come into effect from 1st July 2021. This will be an additional 3% payable on the existing 28% of basic pay and pension. The decision will benefit 47.14 lakh central government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners. The move would, however, put a burden of Rs 9,488.70 crore on the government’s exchequer every year. In July, the Central government had restored Dearness Allowance (DA) benefits for its employees and pensioners and had increased the DA from 17 per cent to 28 per cent.  The DA is a part of the salary…

New Delhi [India] : After the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the date sheet of Class 10 and 12 for the Term-1 examinations on October 18, the board noticed that some students are still not in the city of their school where they had taken admission.According to the circular issued by CBSE today, the board will inform the students to make a request to their respective schools to change the city of the examination centre. New Delhi [India] : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date to submit the online application for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) from October 19 to October 25.As per the official notification, candidates can submit their fees by October 26 (3:30 pm). New Delhi [India]: Over 102 crore COVID-19 vaccines have been provided to states and union territories so far, said the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday.As per information shared by the ministry, a total of 1,02,05,09,915 doses have been provided to states and union territories so far through the Central government’s free of cost channel and through the direct state procurement category.
