Hyderabad (Telangana) [India] : The Telangana government on Monday set up a cabinet sub-committee to tackle the situation that may arise due to Omicron, the new variant of Coronavirus found in some countries.The four-member committee, headed by State Health Minister T Harish Rao, will recommend to the state government the measures needed to tackle the current pandemic situation and also to expedite the COVID-19 vaccination. 405 new Covid cases, three deaths in Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug 16: Telangana reported three Covid-19 deaths and 405 infections on Monday even as the number of active cases further reduced to 7,093. The death toll now stands at 3,845 and the caseload at 6,52,785. So far, a total of over 2.34 crore covid-19 tests have been conducted in the state, out of which 6,52,785 have tested positive and 6,41,847 persons have recovered. The number of active containment zones in the state also came down to 20. Karimnagar, Jagtial, Nalgonda and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts registered the majority of the active containment zones in the state. The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.58 per cent while the recovery rate rose to 98.32 per cent So far, 79.8 per cent of overall cases in the state have been asymptomatic while 20.2 per cent symptomatic. Bengaluru,(India): NCB Bengaluru and Hyderabad busted another clandestine laboratory manufacturing Alprazolam in Hyderabad.The clandestine lab was busted after the NCB Bengaluru Zonal Unit and Hyderabad Subzone arrested four persons near Ujwala Grand on Medak–Hyderabad Road on August 14 on a tip off, NCB Bangalore Zonal Unit (IRS Zonal Director) Amit Ghawate said.The joint NCB team recovered Rs 12.75 lakh worth drugs and 3.25 kg of Alprazolam from the arrested persons, namely Y Sudhakar, A Naresh, KP Kumar and A Srikanth, he said.Alprazolam is widely used as a cutting agent for illicit toddy in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. 569 Covid-19 new cases, four deaths in Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug 5: Telangana reported 569 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths on Saturday even as the number of active cases in the state stood at 8,582.The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year stands at 6,48,957 and the death toll stands at 3,823, according to a bulletin issued by the Director of Public health on the status of Covid cases this evening.A total of 657 patients were declared recovered from the virus on Friday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,36,552.The overall recovery rate in the state is 98.8 percent against 97.34 per cent at national level.Similarly, the case fatality rate (CFR) in the state stands at 0.58 percent against the national average of 1.3 per cent.On Saturday, 1,05,201 samples were tested for the novel coronavirus and with this, Telangana has now completed testing 2.27 crore…

Hyderabad Police on Monday arrested six people, including a 34-year-old MTech graduate, for allegedly selling cars which were taken on rental basis. There are two BTech graduates and a master’s degree holder in social work (MSW) among the arrested. According to Cyberabad commissioner VC Sajjanar, the main accused, Palle Naresh Kumar, used to take cars on rent by giving false promises to car owners and travel agencies and later sell or mortgage the vehicles.
