Karnataka logs 14,473 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

Karnataka reports 8449 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths in the last 24 hours

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: Karnataka reported 8449 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths in the last 24 hours, the state health department informed on Friday.With the addition of new cases, the cumulative case tally in the state mounted to 30,31,052, of which 30,113 are active cases. Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Friday, clarified that no decision has been taken so far regarding the compulsory quarantine for international arrivals from ‘at-risk’ countries, even if they test negative for COVID-19, said an official statement. “Any decision taken in this (compulsory institutional quarantine for foreign arrivals from ‘at-risk’ countries) regard would be after due consultation of experts and in conformity with GoI & State govt guidelines,” read the clarification letter of BBMP.“Although several inputs are received that call for immediate institutional quarantine of arrivals from ‘high-risk countries’, no decision in this regard has been taken. Bengaluru (Karnataka) : Gold worth Rs 61 lakh was recovered from under a passenger seat of an Indigo flight that landed in Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru from Dubai on Saturday.The customs officials are yet to reach a conclusion whether a passenger abandoned the gold or left it for another gang member to collect it later. The Bangalore Customs Division Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) suspected gold smuggling on the plane during inspection after the flight (6E 096) touched KIA from Dubai.During the inspection, a packet was found under an economy class seat and it contained 29 gold sticks besides gold paste.A further inspection revealed that gold sticks in the packet weighed 599 gm and gold paste weighed 701 gm. Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: A Rolls-Royce car along with 15 other luxury vehicles were seized by the Karnataka transport authorities in UB city of Bengaluru on Sunday.As per the information shared by the Karnataka transport department, a team led by Additional Commissioner of Transport L Narendra Holkar impounded the cars during a special drive to check luxury vehicle owners’ compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act. Since no records of ownership and other details were found in the Parivahan Sewa database, the transport authorities impounded the cars.The Rolls-Royce valued at Rs 16 crores was not insured. It was registered in Maharashtra (registration number MH 02/BB2).Other details of the car are not yet known as the person driving the car claimed that it belonged to a Bollywood actor who purchased it in 2019.

Drone Delivery of Medicines

Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) trial run for drone delivery of medicines was successfully completed in Bengaluru on Friday. Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 20 : The pilot was led by Throttle Aerospace Systems (TAS) and UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) under the supervision of the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The trial was conducted within a 15-km radius at Gauribidanur on the outskirts of Bengaluru by UDAN for the last mile delivery of medicines.During the pilot, two variants of drones were successfully tested– Medcopter X4 and Medcopter X8– with simulated deliveries to UDAN customers. Pharma Deliveries of up to 2kg payload were tested at various distances in the designated area varying from 2-7 kilometres aerial distance. NCB busts another illegal Alprazolam-manufacturing labs in Hyderabad

Bengaluru,(India): NCB Bengaluru and Hyderabad busted another clandestine laboratory manufacturing Alprazolam in Hyderabad.The clandestine lab was busted after the NCB Bengaluru Zonal Unit and Hyderabad Subzone arrested four persons near Ujwala Grand on Medak–Hyderabad Road on August 14 on a tip off, NCB Bangalore Zonal Unit (IRS Zonal Director) Amit Ghawate said.The joint NCB team recovered Rs 12.75 lakh worth drugs and 3.25 kg of Alprazolam from the arrested persons, namely Y Sudhakar, A Naresh, KP Kumar and A Srikanth, he said.Alprazolam is widely used as a cutting agent for illicit toddy in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Karnataka CM does not want zero traffic rule for himself

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai has decided to not imply Zero traffic rules for his city travel in Bengaluru. Earlier, the Chief Minister along with his ministers were getting zero traffic to avoid traffic congestion during their travel in the city.However, to break away with this rule, Karnataka CM Bommai decided to not imply zero traffic on his travel. As per an official statement by the Chief Minister’s office, CM Bommai ordered to not provide him ‘zero traffic’ for his city travel in Bengaluru.On a similar note, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has issued an order mentioning that the signal will be free (green light) when ministers travel and also allow the ambulance to move during their travel.Earlier, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra had also denied that he doesn’t want this zero traffic system rule for himself.
