By killing teachers, Terrorists are trying to create fear and communal disharmony in J-K : DGP Dilbag Singh

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 7 : Reacting to the killing of two government teachers by terrorists in the Eidgah area of Srinagar earlier in the day, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said that the civilians are being targeted to create communal tension in the Union Territory (UT).
“These recent incidents of targeting civilians are to create an atmosphere of fear and communal disharmony here. This is a conspiracy to target the local ethos and values to defame local Kashmiri Muslims,” Singh told media persons here. “We are investing into the matter. The Jammu and Kashmir police have received some evidence in the previous such incidents,” the DGP said.
Two teachers were killed in a terrorist attack at a government school in the Eidgah area of Srinagar on Thursday.


Earlier on Wednesday, a street hawker was shot dead by terrorists in Srinagar. The incident took place near Madina Chowk, Lalbazar where terrorists fired upon the victim Virender Paswan.
Paswan is a resident of Bihar’s Bhagalpur district and worked as a street vendor. He was residing at Alamgari Bazar, Zadibal. Police said a search operation was underway to nab the terrorists.
Also, a businessman, Makhan Lal Bindroo, was killed by terrorists in Srinagar on Tuesday evening. 

2 teachers killed as terrorists open fire in Srinagar’s Eidgah area

Two government school teachers, including a woman, were shot dead by terrorists in the Eidgah area of Srinagar on Thursday. Terrorists fired from close range at two teachers in a government higher secondary school here. Both the teachers died on the spot. According to police, at about 11:15 am, terrorists shot dead two school teachers. The area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nail the attackers. “Two teachers killed in a terrorist attack at a government school in the Iddgah Sangam area of Srinagar,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement Reports say that the slain teachers are the principal of the school, Supinder Kaur and a Kashmiri Pandit teacher, Deepak Chand. Today’s killings come two days after the terrorists shot a local Pandit, ML Bindroo, a non-local vendor and a taxi driver in Kashmir.

Befitting reply will be given to perpetrators, says JK LG

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday condemned the killing of two government school teachers in a terrorist attack in the Eidgah area of Srinagar and said that a befitting reply will be given to the perpetrators.
“I strongly condemn the barbaric killing of two of our teachers, Supinder Kour and Deepak Chand by terrorists. A befitting reply will be given to the perpetrators of the heinous terror attacks on innocent people,” tweeted Shina. “The terrorists and their patrons will not succeed in disturbing peace, progress and prosperity of J&K UT. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family, friends and colleagues,” he added.
