Mumbai ( Maharastra ) : The Bombay High Court on Thursday granted Aryan Khan bail in connection with the alleged cruise ship case, according to ANI. Bombay High Court also grants bail to Arbaz Merchant and Munmum Dhamecha in drugs-on-cruise case. Former Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi, who is representing Aryan Khan had concluded his argument before Justice N.W. Sambre on Wednesday (October 27). Arbaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha’s lawyers had also presented their case before the single bench of the High Court yesterday. Additional Solicitor General of India Anil Singh, who is appearing for Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), gave replies to the arguments of the accused’s advocates at the Thursday’s hearing.

ASG Anil Singh told the court that Aryan Khan is a not first-time consumer of drugs, according to ANI. Singh added that the star kid was in touch with the drugs peddlers. “Defence has spoken about testing. Why testing? Our case is not of consumption but of possession. Accused one was in conscious possession of drug,” Singh was quoted as saying by the news agency. ASG Anil Singh mentioned Aryan Khan’s WhatsApp chats and said, “If we relied upon WhatsApp chat, he (Aryan Khan) had made an attempt to deal in commercial quantity (of drugs). Ecstasy was of commercial quantity. It can’t be said that drug was for personal consumption.
Why Was Aryan Khan Arrested?
Aryan, Arbaz and Munmun were among the eight people, who were detained and later arrested following NCB’s raid on a cruise ship on October 2. They were booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. A Special NDPS Court had rejected Aryan’s bail on October 20 in the seizure of drugs case. In a major setback to SRK and Gauri Khan’s son, his judicial custody was also extended till October 30. The lawyers of the trio approached the Bombay High Court last week after the NDPS Court rejected their bail pleas. Last week, the Narcotics Control Bureau had summoned Ananya Panday to appear before the officials in connection with the drugs case. The anti-drugs law enforcement agency had conducted a raid at Panday’s Mumbai house on October 21. The NCB officials had seized her mobile phone and laptop following. Ananya’s name featured in the WhatsApp chats of Aryan Khan and hence, she was summoned for questioning, as per a report .
