Adivi Sesh’s long-pending film, Major, is all set for a grand release this summer. According to the latest update, Major will hit the theatres worldwide on May 27. After announcing the release date, Adivi Sesh promised that summer 2022 will be massive. Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, Major is a biopic inspired by the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who lost his life in the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai.
Major was supposed to release in theatres this February. However, the makers decided to postpone the film’s release due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The actor then promised that he will announce the release date of Major at the right time.
On February 4, Adivi Sesh took to Twitter to announce the release date of Major. Sharing the announcement poster, he wrote, “THIS. SUMMER. WILL. BE. MASSIVE. #MajorTheFilm WORLDWIDE on 27 May, 2022. #MAJOR ka promise hai Yeh. #MajorOnMAY27 (sic).”
Major is a biopic directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and jointly produced by Sony Pictures India, G Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies. The film, which was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi, will also be dubbed in Hindi. Adivi Sesh will be playing the titular character of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
Major features Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi Nair and Murali Sharma in important roles. The film has music scored by Sricharan Pakala and cinematography by Vamsi Patchipulusu. Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and Kodati Pavan Kalyan are the editors.
