Malayalam actress Chitra, who also acted in Tamil movies passed away at her residence in Chennai. She was 56 and died following a massive heart attack. She is survived by her husband Vijayaraghavan and daughter Mahalakshmi. The sudden demise of this versatile actress has shocked the film industry and condolences messages are pouring from celebrities and her co-actors.
Chitra is known for her role in director KS Ravikumar’s ‘Cheran Pandiyan’ and Pandiarajan’s ‘Gopala Gopala’ among many others. She was nicknamed ‘Nallennai Chithra’ after acting in a Nallennai commercial that went viral. She was living along with her family in Saligramam and was acting in few serials.
The veteran actress has featured in several South Indian-language films including Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu. She has acted in over 100 films and has shared screen space with actors including Mohanlal and Prem Nazir.
