Heavy downpours witnessed in various parts in the metropolis city on Wednesday, causing waterlogging at Parel and Sion area here.
Mumbai: The met department has issued an orange alert for Mumbai and neighbouring Thane, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.
While a red alert for Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur and Satara districts have also been issued.
The IMD also said that the island city, eastern suburbs and western suburbs recorded 100.33 mm, 61.48 mm and 63.36 mm rain, respectively, in the last 24 hours.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in city and suburbs with the possibility of very heavy rainfall at isolated places in next 24 hours.
