1127 facilities set up by Haryana govt to provide appropriate treatment to Covid patients: Dr Banwari Lal

Chandigarh, Aug 20: With the onset of COVID, Haryana Government has set up 1,127 facilities (DCH, DCHC,DCCC) to provide appropriate treatment to COVID patients, including 68 Dedicated COVID Hospitals, (DCH), 564 Dedicated COVID Health Centres (DCHC) and 495 Dedicated COVID Care Centres (DCCC).
This was shared by Cooperation Minister Dr Banwari Lal while answering the questions during the Monsoon Session of the Vidhan Sabha on Friday in the absence of Health Minister Anil Vij.
He said that there is sufficient availability of beds, oxygen, equipment etc in the State. He elaborated that the State presently has 61,096 Isolation Beds, 4,040 Isolation beds for Paediatric patients, 14,362 Oxygen supported beds, 3,286 Oxygen Isolation Beds for paediatric patients, 5,069 ICU Beds and 1535 ICU Paediatric Beds, 708 Neonatal ICU Beds, 827 Paediatric ICU Beds, 2,058 Ventilators and 426 Paediatric Ventilators.
Regarding financial assistance for families, the Minister said that an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 2 lakh has been given to Haryana State BPL Card Holders, who died due to COVID and a Special Ex-Gratia Grant of Rs 5 lakh has been given to family members of who dies due to COVID disease.
Besides this, Special Compassionate Financial Assistance of Rs 20 lakh was given to families of Covid warriors, who dies while on active COVID duty, especially related to management of COVID or maintenance of essential services.
Apart from this, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, insurance Scheme for health workers fighting COVID-19 to the tune of Rs 50 lakh to healthcare providers, including community health workers, deployed for COVID duty.
A total of 26 healthcare personnel (9 doctors, 2 AYUSH doctors, 8 paramedical staff, 2 ASHA workers and 5 other staff) deployed for COVID duty have lost their lives, who were provided with life insurance.
